Functional Workwear for Women
The Gridiron line from Milwaukee stands out for its smaller sizing with coverage where you need it.
As a tradeswoman, I have discovered that finding functional workwear that fits and allows freedom of movement is tough. So when I heard that Milwaukee was introducing women’s sizes to its three apparel lines, I couldn’t wait to try them out.
For me, the Gridiron line stands out, especially the Women’s Double Knee Jogger Pants ($80). I use the seven deep, reinforced pockets and nylon-reinforced clip-on zones for packing hand tools. The tools stay in place without stretching the pants, and the weight feels evenly distributed.
Lightweight and Durable

The pants have held up after many washes and the abuse of screws and nails in the pockets. The high waist provides excellent coverage, and the elastic ankles are a huge win, especially if you are on the shorter side like me.
I’ve also tried the Gridiron T-shirts ($23), which are lightweight, breathable and not too tight, although they are snug enough that I don’t worry about getting them caught on equipment. Plus, the extra length in the back ensures that everything stays covered when you’re bending or stretching.
