Revive Old Caulk Tubes
Does throwing away an old, clogged caulk tube pain you? At five to ten bucks a pop it could. Here’s a way to revive old caulk tubs and even improve on the design.

In my experience, it doesn’t matter if I insert a nail or a screw into the nozzle of a partially used tube of caulk. The caulk will still coagulate into a frustrating lump that renders the tube useless. To remove the hardened caulk, I use my utility knife to slit the entire length of the nozzle. Then I pry out the caulk lump, andtape the nozzle back together with electrician’s tape.

I recently created a product that solves the issue of clogged caulk tubes and clogged caulk tube nozzles. This is not to prevent drying, but to address the issue when none of the other methods to prevent clogging, or unclogging fail.
